About the position Nowhere Networks is looking for a solution-oriented and technology-driven Network Engineer with a passion for IP networks, Layer 2/3, and complex troubleshooting. This is not a role for those who enjoy static office environments; it’s about designing, operating, and optimizing advanced network environments in dynamic settings: ships, masts, and proprietary radio systems.

We are looking for you who can see the entire network picture, understand how all parts connect, and take ownership to ensure that our customers' ships have stable and fast connectivity. You will be part of a small, passionate team where each member has significant influence – here you will have the space to think creatively, solve real problems, and work hands-on with everything from design to configuration and operation.

Your future responsibilities The role involves responsibility for optimizing and troubleshooting networks in complex and dynamic environments. You are expected to be both operational and analytical; it is not enough to find the problem, you must also be able to solve it.

Examples of tasks:

• Design and implement network solutions in marine and distributed environments
• Configure switches, routers, and other network components
• Troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 related issues in both customer environments and internal systems
• Manage VLAN, routing, IP planning, and network structuring
• Work with monitoring, optimization, and documentation of the network
• Collaborate with the development team on network-related integration needs
• Help shape future architecture and standards for networks within the company

We are looking for you who Have at least three years of practical experience working with IP networks and are the go-to person when issues arise.

You should have:

• Very good understanding of IP, TCP/UDP, Layer 2 & 3
• Knowledge and practical experience of switched networks and VLAN
• Good Linux skills
• Ability to troubleshoot, but also solve complex network problems
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Driver's license

Meritorious:

• Experience from telecom companies, data centers, or rolling network expansions (e.g., 5G masts)
• Background in operational environments rather than pure support
• Previous work in dynamic and changing environments
• Experience in writing clear technical documentation

Personality-wise, you are curious, self-driven, and enjoy diving into details.
